ASC were proud to host the cadets of the RAF Section of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) from Elizabeth College Guernsey on Tuesday 1 July 2025 as part of the Cadet Summer Camp trip to Alderney.
The Cadets demonstrated exceptional handling and accuracy as they participated in the increasingly popular ASC ‘gong-shoot’ event.
The CCF offers young people a broad range of challenging, exciting, adventurous and educational activities. ASC were delighted when the RAF Section from Elizabeth College Guernsey decided to book in with us for the afternoon.
19 members of the RAF Section participated in a four-hour event, which culminated in a closely fought contest with Cadet Leo-Jaie Walker claiming the “Best Shot” Trophy and ASC merchandise prizes. Following closely in 2nd place was Cadet Eliott Webb and in 3rd place was Cadet Sebastian Clare who both took home some ASC merchandise as runners-up. A special mention also for Cadet Charlie Parrot who narrowly missed out on joint third place despite clocking up the highest round score of the day and will be getting ASC merchandise in the post shortly in recognition of this achievement.
This event was overseen by ASC Range Safety Officers, States of Alderney Armourers, Flight Lieutenant Ross Inderwick and Flying Officer Rose Lee, both attending from the Elizabeth College CCF.
We were also pleased to welcome SoA Chair of Economic Development Stuart Clark who, having served for over a decade in the military had been keen to see the cadets and how they performed in an event that has been drawing so much interest from off-island corporations looking to travel to Alderney and attend our team-building events with a difference.
A great day was had by all and ASC hope to host the cadets again in the future.
ASC is dedicated to making shooting sports, and the discipline that comes with it, accessible to young people in the Bailiwick. For enquiries, please contact info@alderneyshootingclub.com
