Our History

Alderney Shooting Club has existed in various iterations since the 1960s.

The current incarnation of the club was established by Lieutenant Colonel Peter Walter MBE MC, a highly decorated soldier with 22 Special Air Service Regiment (SAS) and two-time Island Games medal winner Peter Tatton.

Located in the largely derelict Victorian Fort Albert, the club currently has approximately 175 club members, and hosts around 200 visitors and tourists per year.

The Alderney Shooting Club is just one more example of the island’s thriving sports and leisure facilities that are available to islanders and visitors alike.

Disciplines offered include, clay pigeon shooting, target pistol & rifle shooting (rimfire and full-bore) and archery.
